Middletown Adds New Public Notification System

Mayor Joseph M. DeStefano announced Tuesday that Middletown residents have a new way to receive updates and emergency alerts from government and law enforcement officials through a new notification system.

The system, Nixle 360 provides residents with real-time informational updates and emergency alerts. It connects residents to all of the city agencies such as the police and fire departments and the Department of Public Works. 

Notifications types such as public emergencies, road closures, severe weather alerts, and much more will be delivered to resident through various platforms including phone, mobile phone, text, and email.

It's easy to sign up and get connected by logging into www.nixle.com. For text alerts: Simply text Middletown to 888777, and you’ll automatically be added to the system.

Citizen questions about the service and its capabilities can be answered through the Frequently Asked Questions page found at www.nixle.com/consumer-faqs/.
